Election Results for Three Local Contested Races

  
A run-off election will be held in the coming weeks between Mario Trevino and Johnny Gloria for Commissioner, Pct. 2.

While most of the local races in Dimmit County were uncontested, three incumbents faced opponents in Tuesday’s Primary Election.
    The final (uncanvassed) results in the contested local races are as follows:

Computer Class

    A new session of “Computers Made Easy: Basic Skills and Understanding” will be presented at the Big Wells Community Education Center beginning March 15.  If you are interested in participating in a course, please come by or call the Center at (830)457-9336. Space is limited.

Book Fair at Big Wells Elementary

    Big Wells Elementary Library will celebrate Public School Week by hosting a Scholastic Book Fair!  The Book Fair will be from Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 12 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and on Monday and Wednesday for Family Reading Night from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.   Families, teachers, and the community are invited to attend the Book Fair, featuring a fun theme: Book Fair Diner: All You Can Read!
 

March Senior Social

    This month’s  Senior Social & Lunch will be held on Wednesday, March 10th at 10:00 a.m. in the Methodist Fellowship Hall.
    Josie Castillo, County Agent for Texas AgriLife Extension will teach about emergency preparedness especially for seniors.
    Come join us for good fellowship.  Invite a friend and bring a dish to share for a pot luck lunch.
